Depth2Beam grew out of Image2Beam — a free laser image preparation tool built from real hands-on engraving experience across CO₂, fiber, and diode systems.
Why a separate app for relief and depth maps
Image2Beam handles general laser image preparation — cleanup, vectorization, 3D-illusion prep, and export guidance. Depth-map and relief generation is a different problem with different tools, including AI models that call real cloud infrastructure with a real per-generation cost. Depth2Beam exists to keep that capability focused and clearly priced, rather than folding it into a tool that's otherwise free.
Both apps are part of the same laser-prep ecosystem and are designed to hand off to each other cleanly.
